This is a downloadable Excel spreadsheet withholding calculator tax tables all-in-one for the 2021-22-23 years.
The tax instalment rates for 2022-23 (applying from 1 July 2022) remain unchanged with the exception of student debt calculations.
The calculator covers individuals using the ATO’s tax scales 1 to 6, with weekly, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly calculations available.
The tool handles variations for resident, non-resident, and medicare levy reductions and HECS/HELP loan additions.
Calculations do not include variations for Shearers and Horticulturalists, Backpackers, Seniors, super income streams, redundancy and early retirements payments and return to work payments.
Scales 1 to 6 are the most commonly used tax scales, but please check before using that the calculator will meet your requirements. Scales 1 to 6 are identified and described here.
The calculations follow the ATO’s tax withholding formulae for the tax years from 1 July 2021. Note that these formulae are Tax Office approximations of the tax required from periodic earnings, which may differ from an annual tax calculation.
FREE to download.
The 2022-23 calculator has updated student loan repayments applying from 1 July 2022, but is otherwise the same as the previous year.
