ATO Tax Rates 2015-2016 Year (Non-Residents)

The 2015-16 tax year runs from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016.

$0 – $80,000 32.5c(1) for each $1
$80,001 – $180,000 $26,000+ 37c for each $1 over $80,000
$180,001 and over $63,000 + 47c(2) for each $1 over $180,000

(1) Carbon tax repeal legislation reduces the first step marginal tax rate from 33% to 32.5%. Read more here.
(2) Includes the Temporary Budget Repair Levy of 2% (see below)

Levy on higher income earners

The Federal Budget 2014-15 presented to parliament on 13 May 2014 contained a proposal for a Temporary Budget Repair Levy of 2% of taxable incomes in excess $180,000. This effectively increases the highest marginal tax rate in the table above from 45% to 47% and takes effect for 3 years from 1 July 2014 until 30 June 2017.

Flood Levy is no longer applicable.

Non-residents do not pay the Medicare Levy.
